The short version

LoanLens uses two analytics platforms: Plausible (cookieless) and Google Analytics (uses cookies). Google Analytics only loads if you accept cookies via our consent banner.

What we use instead of cookies

We store your cookie consent preference in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. Local storage data is not sent to our servers — it exists only in your browser. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Our analytics

Plausible Analytics (cookieless)

Plausible Analytics measures aggregate statistics like page views and traffic sources. It does not:

  • Use cookies of any kind
  • Collect personal data
  • Track individuals across sessions or sites
  • Store IP addresses
  • Use browser fingerprinting

Because Plausible is cookieless, it does not require consent under PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) or GDPR.

Google Analytics (uses cookies)

We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site. Google Analytics sets the following cookies:

  • _ga — distinguishes unique users (expires after 2 years)
  • _ga_* — persists session state (expires after 2 years)

Google Analytics only loads if you accept cookies. If you reject non-essential cookies, Google Analytics will not run and no GA cookies will be set.

Google Analytics data is anonymised and used solely to improve our content. For more information on how Google uses data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Third-party cookies

Some pages contain affiliate links to third-party financial services websites. If you click through to a third-party site, that site may set its own cookies. We have no control over third-party cookies. Please refer to the cookie/privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

Managing your preferences

You can reset your cookie consent preference at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. You can also clear your browser's local storage via your browser settings (usually under "Privacy" or "Site data").
